Rodney Hood / Gastrointestinal Distress
Rodney Hood is probable for Saturday's game vs. Oklahoma City.
Gastric distress can include various causes of stomach pain including; indigestion, constipation, stomach virus, food poisoning, and food allergies to name a few. Most causes of gastric distress are not serious but will cause mild stomach ache, sharp pain, or stomach cramps. Gastric distress and stomach pain can also be a sign of a serious illness so it’s important to recognize the signs and symptoms and seek further medical attention in severe cases. Treatment for gastric distress will generally depend on the cause and can range from medications, to diet modification. Return to play is variable and will often be contingent on the athletes symptoms.
Alec Burks / Left Shoulder Surgery
Alec Burks underwent a surgical repair on his injured left shoulder on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at the University of Utah. The procedure was performed by Jazz head orthopaedic team physician, Dr. Travis Maak. As a result, Burks will miss the remainder of the 2014-15 season. He is expected to be ready for the start of 2015 Jazz training camp.
