DETROIT, February 22 (AP) -- Chauncey Billups had 21 points and 12 assists to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 127-100 rout of the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.

Detroit went into the All-Star break with a 10-game winning streak but had lost two straight since returning, including a 103-98 defeat at Milwaukee on Wednesday.

Rasheed Wallace scored 17 points and Richard Hamilton added 16 for the Pistons, who put six players in double figures while reaching a season high for points.

Charlie Villanueva and Michael Redd led Milwaukee with 18 points apiece.

The Bucks hit 12 straight shots in one first-quarter stretch, but were only able to build a 33-31 lead. Milwaukee then started the second by missing 14 of 17 shots, allowing Detroit to pull away.

The Pistons ended up outscoring Milwaukee 32-11 in the period and had a 65-46 advantage at halftime. Billups had 18 points, including 10-for-12 shooting from the free-throw line.

Detroit's offense kept rolling in the third, putting up 35 more points and reaching triple figures in the final minute of the quarter. The Pistons had 23 assists and four turnovers in the first three quarters, including a 12-1 ratio for Billups.

Game highlights

Larry Krystkowiak

(On the second quarter):
“I think it was the turning point for sure in the game. At halftime they had 32 of their 65 points in transition and second chance points. I think it was 16-2 second chance and that is all energy stuff. We did a nice job guarding in the half court, but we were playing Russian roulette when you are giving up second chance points and when we missed shots we went a little stagnant. When we missed a shot or turned it over you can’t hang your head because they had an energy group in the second quarter and got off and scored 15 points in transition. That was big and the difference in the game.”

(On bench production):
“That is one of those things that you talk about. You try and get a lift out of your bench and I’m sure that they talked about that as well in the locker room, how our bench got the best of their bench Wednesday night. It looked like in the second quarter when it was the supporting cast playing against each other that they had a chip on their shoulder and played harder. Our guys recaptured some of that energy in the fourth quarter when the game was decided, but we aren’t going to be a real good team unless we come out and play with an edge and play hard like we did Wednesday night. You can’t stop playing hard and be competitive, especially against a team of this caliber.”

Desmond Mason

(On the game):
“They (the Pistons) were getting out in transition. They were getting rebounds, and all the missed shots and turnovers led to lay-up after lay-up. We just weren’t getting back on defense and I think that kind of gave them a bit of energy. Their second guys came in and gave them a lot of energy and the transition and second chance points hurt us.”

(On the Pistons’ aggressiveness):
“I think that the second quarter just got out of hand because those guys got really aggressive. Playing a team like the Pistons back-to-back is tough because they are going to come out and attack us early. I think that we held our own in that first quarter, but they were more aggressive in that second quarter.”

(On the loss):
“It is disappointing, but it is also embarrassing to lose games by a large margin especially when you know that you are better. With these situations we just have to have a short memory because we have a really good team coming in tomorrow with Denver and we have to prepared to play basketball because they run even more than the Pistons. The one thing that we need to focus on is getting back on defense.”
